STEAMhouse – The home on innovation in the West Midlands

On Wednesday 17th July evening I got an invite to the launch of the STEAMhouse's Studio. What a place! Totally love the building and its presence. I've been lucky enough to have worked with Birmingham City University since 2018 promoting STEAMhouse 1.0 and 2.0 with a few different people and on a mass of different projects, for differing audiences. Even when 2.0 was still heavily in development, and in lockdown... we promoted and I supported the project team there and however I could with concepts and creative to sell the dream and inform.

Other than the launch event a year or two back I haven't been in and taken a good look around. Thanks to Sophia Tarr I got to see the levels and facilities with a tour. What were once architects renders and words in our hard worked brochure (🙌 Jonathan Colen take a bow 🙌) were now thriving innovative rooms, well furnished, crammed with the latest tech, and people with the knowledge to get the best out of that kit. A genuinely capable hive – ready to harness and help emerge the next generation of creators and innovators.

I was genuinely proud to have been a small part of it's story but very proud of a team of people I barely knew (other than on emails and calls) who in the second city, had a dream and a vision they truly realised and believed in. Now if that isn't testament for what they could also do for you, and your aspirations, then nothing is.

WELL DONE ALL INVOLVED 🙌 at STEAMhouse | Birmingham City University
